How Symphony works.
Sign in with the email you already use, join a room, and talk in threads. The quiet ones fade on their own. That's the whole rhythm.
1. Sign in — no password
Symphony uses your instruments account. Enter your email and we send a one-time sign-in link; click it and you're in. Same identity across instruments, Symphony, and Score — nothing new to remember.
2. Get into a Symphony
- By invite. The owner sends an email invite to your address. If you already have an instruments account, accepting is a single tap.
- By join code. The owner shares a code; you enter it to join. Codes can be rotated or revoked, so a leaked one is a quick fix, not a crisis.
3. Talk in threads
Conversation is organized into topic threads — each a subject with replies underneath, text and photos. Start a new thread for a new topic; reply under an existing one to keep it going. An owner-set blurb at the top of the group says what the room is for.
4. Let the quiet ones go
The owner sets one inactivity window for the whole group — 30 days by default. A thread stays alive as long as people reply; each reply resets its clock. Go that long with no new reply and the thread quietly disappears — no tombstone, no archive. A Symphony where everything's gone quiet simply tidies itself away.
Who can do what
- Members can unsend their own replies (the "never mind" button).
- Owners can remove a thread early — the moderation lever for spam or a room going sideways — and curate who's in.
- The system ages out quiet threads on the window. Nobody has to clean up.
Common questions
Is Symphony free?
Yes — Symphony is free to use, with no ads.
How is it different from Facebook Groups or a group text?
Invite-only, no ads, no algorithm, and quietly ephemeral — a living room, not a permanent archive. Only the people you invite can see the conversation.
Is it private?
Yes. Symphonies are invite-only; there is no public link and no way for strangers to find or join.
Do I need a separate account?
No — Symphony uses your instruments account. The same sign-in works across instruments, Symphony, Score, and Setlist.
Ready to join in? Sign in with your instruments email — if you've been invited, your room is waiting.
